The dark fandom behind CEO murder suspect Luigi Mangione
"We do not kill people in cold blood to resolve policy differences or express a viewpoint," said Josh Shapiro, the governor of Pennsylvania, where Mr Mangione was arrested at a McDonald's.
"In a civil society, we are all less safe when ideologues engage in vigilante justice."
This is just a vent and if anyone who doesn't want to read it, fine. Please don't and just move along. This here is for Luigi and because of how I've internally felt and kept ahold onto my disdain of our politics the last 25 to 30 years.
The thing that's really really bugging me about how these very harsh tones are coming out from political pundits, MSM in general, and even our politicians such as Shapiro mouths is that no, this isn't just about the resolution of policy or even getting the opportunity to express viewpoints. The policies that have been in place for decades or the ones they incrementally change have been hurting multiple generations of Americans each and every time their life is in the balance from the anticipating dread of whether they'll get an approval or denial. I'm sure a lot of Americans are tired of the political theatrics that occur during congressional hearings when they press these CEO's.
I've watched several and I just walk away more hopeless because that doubt stays with us when these companies say that they will do better or that there's no need to worry. No, I do. Corporations have also repeatedly abused our personal data, they are often careless with it whenever there is a data breach and every time it happens, Americans have to shrug their shoulders and hope that our identities are not stolen. There's just so much corporate mishandling, mismanagement, and a web of complexity with so many holes in corporate structures its so annoying that consumers are not being compensated for these incidents. We're just supposed to bend over and get fucked repeatedly. "It's just the way it is" - Kevin O'Leary
We can't possibly work towards a healthier society for ourselves if they're going to bankrupt us with medical debt within our first 30 to 40 years of life, collect, sell, and distribute our data, and make products and services that are severly below par of what is acceptable. It's been established that companies are legally PEOPLE. But IF you can't actually meet the needs of your consumers and you deny them services or even dont wish to take the risk of giving them care, THEN GET OUT OF THAT BUSINESS. It's healthcare, not a Las Vegas casino. Just like the HORRIFIC Boeing fiasco.
Each and every time we asked our leaders to press Boeing, Boeing tip toed around. Eventually they had to come clean because way too many incidents kept happening. They had been embarrased in front of the whole world and it was just SAD. The most pathetic part is that nearly everything, not all understandably, was indeed preventable. Whistle blowers committed "soo-is-cide", or so we been told. The crux and the lesson here is that all these companies need to do to earn our trust is not to keep fucking us over the coals and literally kill us. How in the hell are they not individually criminally responsible for any of what happens under the protection of their company. I just don't understand why its so hard for our government to realize that the American people just want to live knowing that these companies will put in the effort to create policies that directly hurts our economy and the lives of ALL Americans. We wouldn't be here with the death of Brian if you put HUMANS first, not profits. You're in the business of human life, act like you care.
